Description of the study

Students on the Bachelor's degree course in Applied Economic Geography (WiGeo) at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences focus on the interplay between the economy and space. The course is aimed at anyone who wants to understand how regions can grow economically, be designed sustainably and developed for the future.

Students learn to analyze economic processes spatially and develop practical solutions for urban and regional development and location planning. Students apply their knowledge directly in projects with companies and actively contribute to shaping future developments. A particular focus is on sustainability.

Students deal with resource-conserving site planning, fair supply chains, renewable energies and strengthening regional economic cycles. In doing so, they acquire the skills to understand sustainable development strategies in theory and implement them in practice.
