Description of the study

The bachelor's degree program in mechanical engineering at Kiel University of Applied Sciences offers a sound engineering education that closely links theory and practice. Over seven semesters, students earn 210 ECTS credits and graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree.

The program provides comprehensive knowledge in mechanical engineering sciences, including design engineering, materials engineering, and energy engineering. Particular emphasis is placed on the application of scientific methods and the ability to transfer current scientific findings to practical problems. A central element of the program is practical training. Students complete a twelve-week pre-study internship, which must be completed by the beginning of the fourth semester. In addition, project work and laboratory exercises are an integral part of the curriculum in order to deepen theoretical knowledge in real-world application scenarios.

The program also places great emphasis on the social and environmental responsibility of engineers.
