Description of the study

In the Bachelor's degree course in Urban Planning at TH Lübeck, students learn to plan and design liveable cities and regions in a sustainable way and to prepare them specifically for the requirements of the future. Students are expected to receive a sound education in design and technical principles, planning law, social and economic framework conditions as well as sustainability topics, which are applied in a practical way in study projects from the very beginning. Cooperation with local authorities and other stakeholders in Schleswig-Holstein regularly provides opportunities for projects and internships.

With a view to the energy transition and climate protection, climate competence is anchored as a cross-section, e.g. through modules such as "Climate Protection and Sustainability", which teaches the basics of climate change or balancing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as "Urban Ecology/Environmental Planning", which teaches the concrete implementation of environmentally friendly planning, procedures and environmental assessments.
