Nachhaltige Gebäudetechnik
Description of the study
The bachelor's degree program in Sustainable Building Technology at Lübeck University of Applied Sciences offers practical training for aspiring engineers who are interested in sustainable construction and energy-efficient building technology. The program is interdisciplinary and combines engineering fundamentals with aspects of sustainability, comfort, and energy supply.
In the first semesters, students acquire a sound knowledge of mathematics, physics, technical mechanics, and building materials. Building on this, modules on building construction, building physics, electrical engineering, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, and CAD applications follow. From the fourth semester onwards, students deepen their knowledge in areas such as lighting design, energy technology, building and plant simulation, renewable energies, and building automation. Special attention is paid to the integration of ecological and economic aspects into building technology.
The seventh semester includes a 12-week professional internship and a bachelor's thesis in which students work on a practice-relevant topic. There is also the option of completing the program as part of the cooperative “Studium+” study model, which alternates between study and practical phases. Alternatively, the program can be combined with vocational training. Graduates are qualified for jobs in engineering offices, companies, or administrations where they plan, build, and operate buildings—always with an eye on global goals for sustainable development. The program starts in the winter semester and has no admission restrictions. A pre-study internship of at least eight weeks is recommended.
