Short description

Carlos Epia is an electrical engineer (Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 2014) with a Master's degree in Energy and Environmental Management (Europa-Universität Flensburg, 2021). He has several years of industrial experience as a project engineer at Siemens Colombia (2015-2019), where he specialized in control and protection technology for high-voltage switchgear. He currently works as a research assistant in the open source project reGo^n. There he researches the effects of sector coupling (gas, heat and e-mobility) on the electricity grid and analyzes how new flexibility options can support the integration of fluctuating renewable energies.
