Short description
Dr. Dirk Schwede (born in Kiel in 1972) studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig and the University of Stuttgart. He received his doctorate from the University of Sydney in Australia in 2006. From 12/2012 to 12/2017, Schwede was Robert Bosch Junior Professor for Sustainable Construction at the University of Stuttgart. Subsequently, he was research group leader of the group "System Integration and Sustainable Building" at the Institute for Building Energetics, Thermotechnology and Energy Storage (IGTE) at the University of Stuttgart and worked on research projects on sustainable and energy-efficient building in Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as on projects to implement the heat transition in Germany. He is a DGNB auditor and registered energy consultant for residential buildings, non-residential buildings and monuments as well as for energy audits according to DIN EN 16247. Since February 2022, Dirk Schwede is professor for energy and building technology at the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences.
