Short description
I am group leader for mobile applications at the Institute for Hydrogen Technology at the Helmholtz Center Hereon. I work there with my team on hydrogen storage in metal hydrides, which enable very high hydrogen storage densities under moderate pressure and temperature conditions. We transfer the research into application and develop prototypes, which we test and measure in our laboratories. On the way to upscaling, we develop mathematical models that describe the hydrogen absorption and release of the metal ions. We implement these in our simulation tools in order to design highly efficient storage systems. In doing so, we focus on new, innovative and cost-effective production technologies and on maximizing hydrogen density while maintaining high performance in terms of short refuelling times and high load cycle requirements.
