Short description

Prof. Dr. Reiner J. Schütt is scientific director of the “Grid Integration” working group at the Institute for Energy System Transformation (ITE) at FH Westküste and spokesperson for the “Grid Integration” focus area at Landeskompetenzzentrum Energiewendeforschung at EKSH. He graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hannover in 1987. Prof. Schütt began his professional career as a research and development engineer in the field of power electronics at the University of Hannover, where he received his doctorate in 1992 on the topic of “Stresses on insulated-gate bipolar transistors in pulse converters.” He worked for several years as technical director at ENERCON Nord Electronic GmbH in Aurich and Bargteheide. In 1998, he moved to FH Westküste in Schleswig-Holstein as a professor of electrical drives and controls with a focus on applications in decentralized sustainable energy systems. He has published numerous articles in trade journals and conference proceedings, particularly on the control and automation of decentralized electrical generators and their integration into the electrical power supply.
