Short description

Thomas Franke is Professor of Engineering Psychology at the Institute for Multimedia and Interactive Systems at the University of Lübeck. From 2009 to 2014, he completed his PhD in psychology at Chemnitz University of Technology on the topic of resource regulation in interaction with electric vehicles (including range experience, charging behavior), before joining the University of Lübeck in 2016 as a W2 professor (W3 professor from 2017). He is particularly interested in user diversity and a resource perspective on human-technology interaction, with a strong focus on sustainable mobility and user-energy interaction. His projects in the energy field include topics such as Vehicle-to-Grid, Bidirectional Charging of Electric Vehicles, Range Management, Smart Charging, EcoDriving - Energy Efficient Driving Strategies, E-CarSharing, Ridepooling - OnDemand Public Transport, and EcoShipping - Energy Efficiency in Shipping - each with a focus on the human factor in the system.
